Devyani Saltzman was born in Toronto, Canada. She received a degree in Human Sciences from Oxford University, specializing in Sociology and Anthropology. She grew up on film and television sets, and was the recipient of the Young Professionals International Internship grant to work on a feature-length documentary in India.
In addition to Shooting Water (Publisher's Weekly, starred review) her writing has appeared in The Globe & Mail, Marie Claire, and The Walrus Magazine.
Her
subjects include an interview with travel writer Pico Iyer, Indian
Culture through cinema, Japan, Croatia, Daniel Libeskind and the
ROM's new architecture, and the work of music video director Floria
Sigismondi.
